Janine and Bernard met at the August 15th village dance, sometime in the 1950s. They got engaged the very next day and married soon after. Together they restored this house and made it a place where stories are shared, where dishes simmer for hours, and where life is celebrated.
In 2022, their granddaughter Julia founded the association Les Volets Jaunes to honour her grandmother and the family home. Through photography workshops, she brings together international artists, photographers, and some of the Lot's most colourful characters.

C’est au bal du 15 août, dans les années 50, que Janine et Bernard se rencontrent. Le lendemain, ils se fiancent et peu de temps après se marient, rénovent cette maison et en font un lieu où les histoires se partagent, où les repas se mijotent, et où la vie se célébre.
En 2022, la petite-fille Julia créée l’association Les Volets Jaunes pour honorer sa grand-mère et cette maison de famille. À travers des ateliers de photographie, elle réunit artistes internationaux, photographes et charismatiques lotois.

Since 2022, I have directed Les Volets Jaunes and curated its program. Each year, I invite a photographer from the international scene and guide the participants' work all the way to its public presentation.
A graphic designer by trade, I approach photography through publishing, through the way images come together to tell a story.
During each workshop, I work closely with the guest artist on both artistic and technical levels. I make sure the atmosphere is supportive, keep participants actively involved, and advise them on editing and location scouting.

Je dirige Les Volets Jaunes et en assure la programmation depuis 2022. Chaque année j'invite un·e photographe de la scène internationale, et j'accompagne le travail des participant·es jusqu'à sa restitution publique.

Au cours de ces stages, je collabore étroitement avec l’invité·e, sur le plan artistique et technique. Je veille à créer une atmosphère bienveillante, à impliquer activement les participants, et fournir des conseils en matière d’editing et de repérage de lieux.
