It’s a rare and intimate experience, designed to help participants explore and develop their vision. This is not about technique but about approach: learning to see differently, finding the angle that feels right, and telling stories through images. I welcome a small group into an immersive and intense retreat. It’s a suspended moment, away from distractions, to fully dive into the creative process. This workshop is led by photographers whom I consider part of my “family of sensitives,” artists with a deep and thoughtful relationship with their work. Together, we explore what it means to create sincere and meaningful images. The journey concludes with a powerful moment: a public presentation in the village. Participants share the work they have created during the workshop with an attentive and discerning audience. It is both a challenge and a celebration. This workshop is rare because it takes place only once a year. It’s not about quantity or routine but about creating something exceptional— a space where everyone can push their limits and make new discoveries. C'est une expérience rare et intime, conçue pour aider les participants à explorer et à développer leur regard. Il ne s'agit pas de technique, mais d'approche : apprendre à voir différemment, à trouver l'angle qui semble juste et à raconter des histoires à travers les images. J’accueille un petit groupe dans une retraite immersive et intense. C’est un temps suspendu, loin des distractions, pour plonger pleinement dans la création. Ce stage est animé par des photographes que je considère comme faisant partie de ma « famille des sensibles », des artistes engagés dans une relation profonde et réfléchie avec leur travail. Ensemble, nous explorons ce que signifie créer des images sincères et porteuses de sens. Le stage se termine par un moment fort : une présentation publique dans le village. Les participants partagent le travail réalisé durant le stage avec un public exigeant et attentif. C'est à la fois un défi et une célébration. Cahors wine isn't just wine; it's a character. While Bordeaux may have the fame, Cahors has the soul, thanks to its&nbsp; grape, Malbec. The village, with its charismatic inhabitants, the Antinea guinguette along the Lot River, and the Causses trails, offers a wide range of activities and endless opportunities for exploration. For work times, the village provides differents spots. Participants will also have the opportunity to explore the surroundings and meet the locals. They got engaged the very next day and married soon after. Together they restored this house and made it a place where stories are shared, where dishes simmer for hours, and where life is celebrated. In 2022, their granddaughter Julia founded the association Les Volets Jaunes to honour her grandmother and the family home. Through photography workshops, she brings together international artists, photographers, and some of the Lot's most colourful characters. ︎ Français C’est au bal du 15 août, dans les années 50, que Janine et Bernard se rencontrent. Le lendemain, ils se fiancent et peu de temps après se marient, rénovent cette maison et en font un lieu où les histoires se partagent, où les repas se mijotent, et où la vie se célébre. En 2022, la petite-fille Julia créée l’association Les Volets Jaunes pour honorer sa grand-mère et cette maison de famille. À travers des ateliers de photographie, elle réunit artistes internationaux, photographes et charismatiques lotois.&nbsp; ︎︎︎ ︎ JULIA CASTEL website ︎ English Since 2022, I have directed Les Volets Jaunes and curated its program. Each year, I invite a photographer from the international scene and guide the participants' work all the way to its public presentation. A graphic designer by trade, I approach photography through publishing, through the way images come together to tell a story. During each workshop, I work closely with the guest artist on both artistic and technical levels. I make sure the atmosphere is supportive, keep participants actively involved, and advise them on editing and location scouting. ︎ Français Je dirige Les Volets Jaunes et en assure la programmation depuis 2022. Chaque année j'invite un·e photographe de la scène internationale, et j'accompagne le travail des participant·es jusqu'à sa restitution publique. Graphiste de métier, j'aborde la photographie par l'édition, par la manière dont les images s'assemblent pour faire récit.&nbsp; Au cours de ces stages, je collabore étroitement avec l’invité·e, sur le plan artistique et technique.
